This project started as an experimental project in partnership between The Rome Chamber of Commerce, The Ministry of Public Education and the design lab for kids “The Designer”. It is based on an idea of Prisma’s Board of Directors and during the last months it has been a scheduled event open to Rome primary schools. During the 2020-2021 pandemic hardship, not yet overcome, the best primary schools in Rome have been experimenting with new teaching methods to get through the barrier of the traditional classroom and provide kids with strong formative experiences.

The quest for spaces and places for a new teaching has been the leitmotiv of the activity of the last months. Pupils have been able to learn with a more hands on and lab approach in a healthier environment. The “Open School Project” is part of this vision with tutoring, history, art, music and citizenship education labs taking place in various spots in the centre of Rome, such as the “Temple of Hadrian” near Rome Chamber of Commerce.

The Board of Directors of the Prisma Foundation was in charge of the Design course featuring both “Design” and “History of Architecture and Art”. The lessons have been taking place at the Temple of Hadrian since December 2020.
